As part of its infrastructure development programme, Our Lady of Lourdes Mwea Hospital has constructed a new, modern Intensive Care Unit. Nurses now attend to critically ill patients within the recently completed facility, expanding the hospital’s capacity to deliver life-saving care.
The development was guided by a strategic plan, developed with the support of CRS Kenya (Catholic Relief Services), that gave direction to the hospital’s growth. The plan drew on the organisation’s experience, its key achievements and lessons learnt, and the skills and competencies of its team.
The modern ICU is one of several projects delivered under that plan, alongside the Medical School facility and the expansion of the radiology department.
