"With Compassionate Care, We Treat. Jesus Heals."
This motto is the foundation of every decision at OLLMTRH. We treat healing as both a medical and a spiritual act — blending evidence-based medicine with prayer, pastoral care, and a deep respect for every person's dignity, regardless of background or means.
We see each patient as part of a family and community, partnering with them in care decisions so treatment is medically sound, culturally fitting, and personally meaningful. Our approach blends patient care, education, and research — serving mankind through love, knowledge, and skill.
Read Our PhilosophyOur core values guide every interaction at OLLMTRH, shaping how we care for patients, train future professionals, and serve the Mwea community.
We treat patients, families, and learners with kindness and empathy, recognizing that each person comes to us in a moment of vulnerability. Every interaction — from the reception desk to the operating theatre — is an opportunity to ease suffering and restore hope.
Doing the right things at the right time. We are honest with patients and with each other, upholding transparency in diagnosis, treatment, and billing. Our staff are accountable for the trust placed in them by the community we serve.
As a Catholic institution run by the Sisters of Mary Immaculate, we root our work in the Gospel call to heal the sick. Pastoral care, prayer, and a faith-based environment accompany medical treatment, nurturing the spirit alongside the body.
We pursue the highest standards of clinical practice through continuous learning, modern equipment, and evidence-based care. As a teaching and referral hospital, we train the next generation of healthcare professionals to carry this commitment forward.
We manage the resources entrusted to us — human, financial, and material — with responsibility and transparency. Affordable, accessible care is not a concession but a commitment: quality healthcare must reach those who need it most.
We respect each family's values, needs, culture, resources, and strengths. Families are not visitors but partners — active participants in care decisions that affect their loved ones and their community.

Real experiences from the people we serve in Mwea and beyond.
I delivered my baby at OLLMH and the care I received was exceptional. The nurses were kind, patient, and made me feel at ease throughout. The maternity ward is clean and well-equipped. Thank you to the Sisters and staff for the wonderful experience.
I was admitted for a minor surgical procedure and everything was explained in a friendly, caring way. From check-in to check-out, I felt at ease. Very professional staff which instilled confidence. The doctors and nurses at OLLMH are truly dedicated.
As a graduate of the OLLMH Medical School, I can confidently say the training prepared me well for my career. The tutors are experienced and the practical sessions in real hospital settings gave me the confidence to serve patients with skill and compassion.
