New and forthcoming facilities enhancing our healthcare services
OLLMTRH continues to invest in new facilities and equipment to expand our healthcare services. Below are our most recent and upcoming projects — some already launched and operational, others in progress with phases being completed as funding allows.
These projects represent the hospital's ongoing commitment to bringing advanced medical services and training facilities to the Mwea community and the wider Kirinyaga County region.
Each project is tracked by status and phase to show our progress.

Construction of staff housing within the hospital compound to attract and retain qualified healthcare professionals serving the Mwea community.

Detailed information on each project's progress and future plans.
The CT-Scan unit has been finished and launched. The hospital now has a fully equipped S.M.I Diagnostic Centre with a 16-slice Sensation CT Scan.
The diagnostic centre is now serving patients from Mwea and the wider Kirinyaga County, providing advanced CT imaging for accurate diagnosis.
The medical school tuition block has undergone completion of its first phase, which is now operational and serving enrolled students.
The remaining part of the tuition block will be finished soonest possible, expanding the school's capacity to train more healthcare professionals.
The S.M.I Diagnostic Centre was officially launched alongside the new hearse, blessed by Bishop Maria Wainaina.
The 16-slice CT Scan enables rapid, high-resolution imaging for trauma cases, neurological conditions, and oncology assessments.
The completed tuition block provides modern classrooms, a skills laboratory, and learning facilities for medical students.
Both projects strengthen OLLMH's ability to serve the community — through better diagnostics and more trained healthcare professionals.
