Our Lady of Lourdes Mwea Hospital’s productive farming initiative continues to support the institution’s drive toward greater self-sufficiency, with another successful farming season completed.

Grown on hospital-owned land, the maize supplements food supplies for staff and patients while reducing reliance on external purchases. This helps the hospital conserve valuable resources and channel more funds toward essential clinical care.

The initiative complements the hospital’s rice fields and other sustainable agricultural projects, together forming a practical and forward-looking approach to securing stable, locally produced resources while strengthening the institution’s long-term sustainability.
